2.19.11- Saturday Night Life

My alarm went off early as ish this morning. But I got up because well why not... I figured I'd watch saturday morning cartoons and rekindle some of that childhood nostalgia. Yea unless you have cartoon network the cartoons on tv today are some BUTT!!!  So, since I didn't find much to watch I went back to bed. Yeah I'm a lazy lard butt. But its cool..its SATURDAY. I can afford to sleep in.  Too bad I'm a procrastinator or else today would have been the perfect day to get some work done for my grad school classes.  You'd think I'd play catch up and get the required reading done but NO...I sat on the computer Facebooking.  Yeah way to be productive.

I did however manage to run some important errands for my business. I had to go to Home Depot to order a new security door for one of my rental properties. As I was waiting for the sales person to come back and assist me some old dude from Jamaica was like "You've got such bright eyes"  Where is your husband?  I was like oh thank you but I don't have one.  He said whats wrong with him?  Of course he proceeded to flirt with me.. I'm thinking this old toothless bastard really thinks he has a chance? LMAO  I swear why dont the really fine, gorgeous, cute men have that much confidence to approach me with a whack line or a really intelligent one? LOL  I just dont get it.

Well of course this guy was a contractor looking for work. So when he heard I was trying to get a door installed he was like let me do it. So asked him how much he'd charge me and he was like how much is the door?  I was like how much are going to charge me to install it.  He said $100. I'm like is this man high? HD charges $97 to install AND their work comes with a warranty.  This was one of those times where saving money wasn't worth the hassle. I could see me agreeing to have him install the door, me paying for it and him putting it in his work truck, driving off and me never seeing him ever again. LOL

Well, I did get two nice poems that this man wrote me while I was waiting to pay for my door.  Who would think that such a strange looking person could create such beautiful words (Thats if the poems were indeed HIS original works) LOL.   Let me stop, all humans are one of God's creations... I shouldn't talk bad about them.  Besides , maybe toothless, fat old men are appealing to some people in the world.

After spending more time than necessary in HD I ran to the grocery store to buy a few odds and ends.  While in the check out line some dude came up behind me and was talking really, I mean REALLY loud about how he was gonna spoil his baby girl and give her everything she wants and needs.  THEN he was like but if I can't find a job I'mma have to go back to selling drugs or go back to jail. I wanted to turn around and be like WTF? How are you gonna provide for anyone if your dumb ass is in jail? N#$%!$.  You could tell the lady he was with was embarrassed as hell because dude was talking louder than socially acceptable.  Luckily they moved to another line that seemed shorter. Otherwise I might have had to say something to this fool.  You know me... I'm confrontational as hell and would probably have to fight a dude or something if he got offended and tried to step in the store or the parking lot. LOL

I finally got my 10 reusable grocery bags of goodies and rolled out.  When I realized what time it was I was like CRAP I'm running late for my date with Jen. As soon as I got home I took all the groceries in, texted her to tell her I was running late ( I swear I'm NEVER on time for anything, I'd probably be late to my own damn funeral to be honest with you).  She was understanding and had just gotten to the restaurant.  I threw the perishable items in the fridge and freezer, let the dogs out and hit the road.

The BoneFish Grill was packed but Jen had snagged a seat in the bar area near the door.  Once I got there we ordered appetizers and food.  We enjoyed our meal and talked about homeowner ship online dating sites, being single in the DMV and a old times in college. We closed the place down. LOL  Our waiter dude Dan was pretty awesome.  It was great to get out and chat with Jen and enjoy a friends company.

On the way home I called a new buddy of mine that was celebrating his birthday to wish him a happy birthday.  WE chatted briefly and then got off the phone because he was heading out to the club to celebrate his bday.  Now, is it odd that a dude would leave his party to call me and talk and be like I want to hang out with you even though we already talked that evening?
