Don't judge me I'm just a muthafucking PIMP!!! Ok not really but its a funny inside joke. Even my students think so. I dont know why, who or what gave them that idea LOL.
Speaking of students...I have a FORMER student that's been trying to holla since the day he walked into my class, walked across the stage at graduation and since gone on to college and is nearly out. (Yeah I've been teaching long enough to have students graduate and be out in the "real world" as adults.) -DONT JUDGE ME.
Anyhoo, former student whom we shall call BOB has basically put it out there he's trying to holla and that I keep fakin. Now I'm sorry, I'm no Mary Kay Letourneau. I don't go after my students. In fact I have a fundamental rule of not even getting personal with my kids. They don't even know how old I am. So, when BOB approached me from the perspective that he's well over 21 and its an adult now that I should give him a chance. It tickles me because I'm like I still see you as my student in HS biology class, not a grown man with a sensible head on his shoulders that can have a real adult relationship.
So even though I have shot BOB down repeatedly I had to ask my family and friends is my reasoning valid or is it ever ok for a former student-teacher relationship to get personal? Besides I prefer older men anyway. I'm use to being the younger person in a relationship... I mean there is only a 5-8 year difference between me and BOB but there is still a slight generational divide.
Does this make me a puma? cougar in the making? LOL I feel as though there are more issues on my part because of how I perceive the situation... I don't want to feel older than I am or than I feel. I don't want to feel like the "mom" either.
Have any of you had the hots for teacher and made a move on them? What was it like? Was it mostly for status so you could brag to your friends? Or did you genuinely have an interest in your former teacher and really wanted to see where things could take you both?
