While sitting in Borders for the better part of my Sunday afternoon I was perusing the shelves on one of my study breaks. This book caught my eye. It was a bright lime green color but more than just the eye candy factor of the book, the TITLE is what drew me in to pick up the book and thumb through it...green chic - saving the earth in style. by Christie Matheson.
There are a lot of practical ideas in the book that enable an eco-concsious person to make choices that help to improve the planet. For example, when choosing to wrap a gift for a friends birthday party, instead of using that fancy decorative wrapping paper that will make its way to the trash can in less than 10 seconds, choose materials that are either recyclable or eco-friendly. Due to the fact that the paper fibers of wrapping paper are not high enough quality and its also got so much high end ink on it, its unable to be recycled.
Its an easy read or reference book with lots of tips, weblinks and the sort. Its also written with a very conversational tone so its like talking to a girlfriend about how to save the planet rather than reading an environmentalists dissertation on deforestation ramifications. (Which by the way would be worth reading if you were so inclined to do so).
Well thats my take on this particular book. If you decide to check it out let me know your thoughts on it.
