Today was an OK day at work. Nothing to really write about except the fact that my girls dont listen and hear nothing I say! What's new? I think I actually said you all are running your mouths soo much that anything that was in your head is coming out and you aren't letting anything else enter in.
I'm not sure if I mentioned this or not but I think the cat is out the bag. I knew I couldn't hold it in any longer. But after a wonderful conversation yesterday morning with a man in California that runs the Rescue Mission in San Fernando Valley, I just knew I had to move forward with my plan. So last night I signed up for a tax id EIN as well as a PayPal account for my new non-profit.
Today I moved one step further by creating a Facebook group for the non-profit as well as creating a fundRazr account.
SO let me tell you a little bit about my non-profit.
H.O.T.N.E.W.S. is an acronym that stands for Helping Out The Needy Everywhere With Showers.
HOTNEWS Inc. is a non-profit 501 (c) 3 organization based in Baltimore, MD. Our goal is to use mobile shower units to provide the homeless with hot showers as well as provide clean clothes and a hot meal.
HOTNEWS Inc. is now fundraising to purchase its first mobile shower unit trailer. Donations are being accepted through PayPal at HOTNEWS. All funds will go to the purchase of the shower unit to be used this summer through out the city of Baltimore. Just a $1.00 will make a difference in the life of a homeless person. I'm planning a few campaign ads. Here are some of my ideas. I will need some assistance with either shooting videos or collecting images and photos to create a photo story. If you have suggestions please share them here or email them to HOTNEWS.INC@groups.facebook.com
Scenario 1:
If you have ever stopped at a stop light and seen a person shuffle across the lanes with a cardboard sign and hope that you don't make eye contact or that the light quickly changes...ask yourself what are you ashamed of?
Scenario 2:
You see a homeless man laying outside your office building or in the park where you jog/exercise/walk your dog. You just wish he'd go somewhere else. Well if you were willing to donate just a dollar you'd be able to make a difference and help that homeless man go somewhere else. Somewhere else like his own home. With you help HOTNEWS INC. is seeking not only to provide hot showers, clothes and meals to the needy, but we are also seeking to provide skills based training for the homeless so that they can use those skills to market themselves in the work force and become productive members of society.
Scenario 3:
Faces of homelessness and facts about their stories and statistics about the homelessness rates in the City flashing across the screen with music playing in the background.
